Hi Folks
Way back in 2002 I first became aware of genealogy research. I was employed at an engineering company Bombardier on contract at Milton Keynes. One person in the office was doing some research using the Mormon Familysearch website and I took notice and foolishly became hooked. My mother would have been a great person to ask all the initial questions but this was not an option as she had died in 1999. Luckily though for me my dad was still alive and was a great help to me to get started. Moving on swiftly to 2006 all my family trees were very complete, so what did I do next?. Answer – start transcribing censuses for FreeCEN. I completed four and really enjoyed the experience. About 2008 and looking and for a different project to pursue, it turned out to be FreeREG. I seem to have been transcribing parish registers continually since this date, many files have been uploaded to FreeREG but I have an equal amount that have not been uploaded and are not even on this site. Most of my contact with FreeREG has been through the late Dave Newbury and more recently Doreen Olds (Worcs Branch). This year 2015 I have contacted Jonathan Maxfield (Staffs Branch) and have applied to join his group, hopefully it will be of a great benefit and interest looking forward. Thanks for visiting this site
